Tiguidanke Camara, a former model turned mining entrepreneur has had the privilege to share her thoughts and experiences with her peers in the mining industry and business and government stakeholders, fellow entrepreneurs and young aspiring students – boys and girls. As the only woman mine owner in West Africa, Ms. Camara is a strong advocate for gender empowerment in the extractive industries and beyond. Her businesses are strongly committed in improving the livelihoods of the communities. A native Guinean, she is considered a daughter in the villages in which her companies operate. She is especially cognizant of the needs of the communities and has initiated various economic and social development programs.
